Spring is in the air, and we’re thrilled to share what’s growing at Bibb Forest Farm! This buying period, we’ve got a wonderful selection of organically grown plant starts, fig cuttings, and fresh produce to help you kickstart your garden and fill your kitchen with wholesome goodness.
Here’s what’s available now:
Brassicas Mix 4-Pack: Belstar Broccoli, Punto Verde Cauliflower, Black Magic Kale, and Winterbor Kale.
Beets 4-Pack: Sweet, tender Red Ace Beets (1-2 plants per cell).
Savoy Spinach 4-Pack: Nutrient-packed, crinkled leaves perfect for cool-season growing.
Cilantro Starts: Fresh, aromatic cilantro for your spring recipes.
Sugar Snap Pea 4-Pack: Crisp, sweet peas for trellises or containers.
Our popular fig cuttings are back! Sold as 2 cuttings per variety, these are the same beloved varieties as last year. Perfect for expanding your orchard or starting a new one!

Note: We’re a bit lighter on produce at this point in the season as we’re still working on building our temporary greenhouses. But don’t worry—more delicious crops are on the way!
It seems like spring has sprung as we seem to be getting busy. Chris returned to the farm at the start of March, and Cassidy will be joining us part-time in April. We’re so grateful for their help as we prepare for the growing season.
I also learned how to do plumbing work over the winter (who knew farming involved so many skills?) and am currently plumbing the new barn. It’s been a rewarding challenge, and we’re excited about the improvements it will bring to the farm!
Our nursery is filling up fast with starts, and we’ll begin planting early spring crops in the coming weeks. And out in the pastures our lambing season has begun! We have one bottle baby at the moment if anybody is interested in a bottle baby lamb (female) we may be interested in parting with her to keep up with the busy season.
We’ve redesigned the back garden to make it more efficient and productive! One of the biggest changes is eliminating the grass strips that required frequent mowing during the season—it was just too much to manage while keeping up with everything else.
By reorienting the beds from North-South to East-West, we’ve created a beautiful terrace effect that works with the natural slope of the land. To manage runoff during heavy rains, we’ve added 10-15 foot strips at the steepest points of the slope.
This redesign not only looks great but also adds a significant amount of growing space. Plus, it frees up time we used to spend mowing, so we can focus more on growing delicious, healthy food for you!
We’ve got some exciting news from the beeyard! It looks like all of our hives made it through the winter—what a relief! This week, we’re planning to do our first hive checks of the year, and we’re feeling optimistic about the season ahead.
Last year was a challenging one for our bees. With the unusually dry conditions, there simply weren’t enough natural resources for them to survive on their own. It was the first time we had to step in and feed them to make sure they made it through. But this year, we’re thrilled to be starting from a place of strength, building forward instead of repopulating the beeyard.
And there’s more good news! We have a new beekeeper in training. Cass celebrated her birthday in March and got her very own beesuit and beekeeping tools. She’s excited to join me in the beeyard this season and learn the ropes. It’s going to be a fun and rewarding year for our little bee family!
