Hey Folks,
We have had a busy week with our first farmers market ahead of us tomorrow! Just a quick note to keep everyone updated! We will be set up with our wares tomorrow morning 100 E Water St in Charlottesville. The market opens at 9am.
As we finish out May, we have had a full house at the farm! One of our helpers Gideon has decided to continue on traveling and plans to go work in a potato factory and help his grandfather out in Southern Colorado. He has been super helpful and a great friend of ours, we wish Gideon the best as he heads out at the end of the month!
We quickly found a replacement for Gideon’s place on the farm as one of our friends, Chris has been camping in the woods while figuring out his next steps, hoping to continue his farming days! He was thrilled to step in will help us for the remainder of the season. Chris is a Virginia native with experience in the local food sector and livestock farming. He makes really good kombucha and Kiefer and shares our passion for good food.
Gideon’s highlight of the week was working back with me cultivating! If there is a job out there for a full-time cultivating driver he is your guy. He easily was the best cultivating driver we have had. (Photo below– Gideon is cultivating onion sets)
Theano’s highlight of the week was the lovely smells from cucumber leaves emanating while planting in the high tunnel. It was a nice reminder of the Greek salads to come that she has missed in our spring plates.
We harvested our overwintered onions this week! As seen in the photo below, they are laid out to dry/cure for the next few weeks.
More of the same from the spring gardens! What’s back in stock we have the first bed of arugula!! We also should have curly kale, collards and swiss chard bunches with more from the brassica rows soon to come.

Note: Thursday Charlottesville delivery will change to Saturday through the remainder of the growing season! Option to pickup at the city market or we can deliver before/after market. Please write in weekly preference in the order notes!
